The Academy’s scope is multidisciplinary, reflecting the varying needs of those involved in providing the best primary care for people with respiratory disease.
Launched in 2016, initially as a clinical educational platform for generalist primary care health professionals, the Primary Care Respiratory Academy aims to improve respiratory care by advocating high-quality and high-value care. In 2017, we launched the Commissioning Platform, which focuses on the needs of the commissioning community, and in 2018 this will be extended to create a Community Pharmacy Platform.
Primary Care Respiratory Academy
The Primary Care Respiratory Academy Clinical Platform was launched in 2016 as an educational initiative aimed at improving respiratory care through learning and sharing of best practice between generalist primary care clinicians (GPs, Practice Nurses, Practice Pharmacists).
In 2017, the Primary Care Respiratory Academy Clinical Platform was joined by the Commissioning Platform, with the purpose of equipping the service delivery community with the tools and knowledge to help deliver improved outcomes for their population.
2018 will see the launch of the Primary Care Respiratory Academy Community Pharmacy Platform, servicing the educational needs of the retail pharmacist community.
